I hope the difference between us and other nations, is that we mock with a sense of affection. I can honestly tell you that for all the frequency belgium seems to figure in jokes in Britain, we bear Belgium no ill-will, & truly do not dislike the country or 'look down' on Belgians or your country. Occasionally our politicians bang on about Brussels in an EU rule-making context, but that's more about intrusive EU regulation than about Brussels or Belgium. Please don't take any of it seriously.
